結晶紫是一種可以和細胞核中的DNA結合的堿性染料，通常用于細胞核染色。

     結晶紫甲醇溶液(2.5%)由結晶紫、甲醇等組成，是一種組織或細胞染色時常用的可以把細胞核染成深紫色的染色液，多用于細胞。染色液本身有固定和脫水的作用，用于細胞染色時無需額外固定。本品為接近飽和溶液一般用于復配使用或稀釋后直接使用，建議工作濃度為0.1%-1%。
